Our Teachers

The school has two teachers, one of whom acts as director. PNS has been very fortunate to have teachers with a strong, positive connection to the school. With a parent body that changes every year, it has been the directors and the teachers who have been primarily responsible for keeping the school's curriculum and philosophy fresh and vital.

Our Directors, Past and Present

For the past twenty-five years PNS has benefited from the continuity provided by five extraordinary directors: Jeanette "Hap" Tierney, director from 1970 to 1977; Diane Mercer, director from 1977 to 1983; Beth Grunko, director from 1983 to 1995; and Betsy Day, a teacher at the school since 1984, and the director from 1995 to 2000. In 2000 Toni Genovesi, Ed.M, then became the director, and continues to be our director today.

Toni has a long history at PNS, which started when she was a PNS parent; her three children, Brian, Elizabeth, and James, all attended PNS. As a parent, Toni held leadership roles at the school as admissions chair, co-president, and as a member of the board of directors.
